Harish, my son

Hello, friend,

Thanks, my friend, for staying with me on my life's journey.

Harish, my son was born on Friday, the 12th September, 1975 in the Railway Hospital at Perambur, Chennai. His birth star is Kettai and his star sign according to the Western system is Leo. The three names given to him were Chakravarthy, Badrinarayanan and Harish.

Harish saw as many schools between the age of three and five as in the next twelve years. He attended Nursery and Lower KG in Chittaranjan. After I was transferred to Mumbai in 1979, Amritha and he stayed in Chennai. He did his Upper KG at International School, Tiruvanmiyoor, Chennai. When I was transferred to Kota in 1980, he joined a convent school for KG. We then admitted him in Kendriya Vidyalaya, Kota where he did his first and second standards. When I was transferred to Vadodara in 1981, Harish also got transferred to Kendriya Vidyolaya, Vadodara and studied from second to Seventh standards there. When I moved over to BARC, Mumbai, he joined DAE Central School, Anushakti Nagar for his 8th to 10th Standards. When I went over to KVIC, I had to change my residence to Juhu (JVPD). So he joined Junior College (11th and 12th Standards) at Bhavan's College, Mumbai. He studied Bachelor of Computer Science from Fergusson College, Pune and MCA from Sinhgad Institute of Management Studies, Pune.

He did his project work for MCA with TCS. After post-graduation, he joined Cabletron in 2000 as Software Engineer and was posted in Mumbai. Later he changed over to Cygnet Software. In October 2001, he was transferred to Pune and is now Project Leader with the same firm (now called Cygsoft). He specialises in Networking Software. However he has decided to change his job. He has got a good offer from HP (Hewlwtt Packard) at Bangalore and joined them as Senior Software Engineer in October 2004. In November 2004, he was sent abroad (to USA) for a project. For a few months, he stayed in malleswaram and later took up a flat in BTM Layout, First stage. Amritha and I have visited him in this flat a number of times.

After a lot of search for a bride, we finally found the ideal daughter-in-law. Her name is Archana. The Nichayathartham (Engagement ceremony ) was held on 3rd July 2006 and you can see the photos of the function (which were part of the Family Newsletter being published regularly by me) Clicking here. After the Nichayathartham, Harish was again sent to USA by his company for 3 months from August 2006. He came back to Chennai only on 24th November 2006, a week before the wedding. His Upanayanam (which was planned twice, but had to be postponed due to my parents' ill-health) was performed on 27th November 2006. The Reception was on 30-11-2006 and and the wedding was held on 1-12-2006. After the wedding, Harish and Archana had their Honeymoon in Kulu-Manali and Shimla. In the meanwhile a flat was taken on rent in GM Palaya in Bangalore which they occupied on 28th December 2006. All the details of the wedding, honeymoon etc. can be found by Clicking here.

Harish is very affectionate and friendly to all . He is also a voracious reader and used to finish a few novels everytime he travelled from Pune to Chennai and back, which he was doing once in two months. After coming to Bangalore, he visits us every alternate week definitely, sometimes every week also. We talk to him regularly.

Hope you enjoy your journey with me.

Thanks & Regards,

S. Parthasarathy

You Can

An Inspirational Poem by Walter D. Wintle

If you think you are beaten, you are,
If you think you dare not, you don't.
If you like to win, but you think you can't,
It is almost certain you won't.

If you think you'll lose, you're lost,
For out in the world we find,
Success begins with a fellow's will.
It's all in the state of mind.

If you think you are outclassed, you are,
You've got to think high to rise,
You've got to be sure of yourself before
You can ever win a prize.

Life's battles don't always go
To the stronger or faster man.
But soon or late the man who wins,
Is the man who thinks he can.
