In Thayyar Sannidhi the Moolavar and the Uthsavar have identical faces which is unique. Vashishta and other maharishis tied Kannan (Krishna) with Bhakti near the sthalavriksha, hence the places is called Tirukannangudi. The sthala vriskha which is called Kayamaghiz( the flower which does not dry or wither) is at the back of the sannadhi.
On every Masi Magam, the lord god of this place goes to the seashore and blesses all His devotees there.
