BIRTH CENTENARY OF THATHA - RELEASE OF BOOK ROMANCE OF THE RAILWAYS (Report by Radha)
It was time for the release of Parthasarathy Mama's third book ‘Romance of the Railways’ published by Amritha mami. Mr. Dhasarathi, (Retired Railway Board Member) spoke nicely about Mama’s capabilities and efficacy in writing and his dedication to the work undertaken. He released the first copy of the book which was received by Smt.Vijaya Kanth, who had been second in command, next to Mama when he was Financial Adviser in Southern Railways. She said that when mama requested her to receive the first copy, she accepted on condition that she would not speak but later herself volunteered to speak inspired by the fine occasion and spoke very highly and factually of Mama’s efficient working methods, his approach to any work and that he was a sought-after boss due to his fine nature and knowledge.
Here I must mention that mama was to buy the decoration for wrapping the book on his way to the hall, but had no time. Only when he was to escort Mr. Dhasarathi ad Mrs.Vijaya Kanth, mama realised this. It was little Neha, Kannan Anna’s grand daughter who came to our rescue. She made nice wrappings of both the books with the ribbons. Hats off to her.
After this, it was time for the Musical Tribute.
